Team

Samantha Pickard, the President of Strut Entertainment is an entertainment industry veteran with over 34 years of industry experience. Samantha brings an international outlook to Strut with particular expertise in the Canadian and Australian markets. Samantha has a diverse skill set to Strut from her experience as a retail buyer, artist manager, promotions and event manager and GM of an entertainment media publishing company. As President of Strut Entertainment, Samantha has overseen hundreds of PR, marketing, event, and project campaigns, and has also developed partnerships and campaigns with many brands and manages the careers of artists and influencers.

Some of the current and past clients and brands Sam has worked with include: the Rolling Stones 50 Years Tour, Taylor Swift, Hanson, Commander Chris Hadfield, The Weeknd (House Of Balloons and The Trilogy), Rush, PUMA, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jabra, The Washboard Union, Perez Hilton, Lauv, Lainey Wilson, MusiCounts, Jill Hennesey, Finneas, Girl In Red, and the Black Canadian Music Awards, So You Think You Can Dance Canada, numerous campaigns for Warner Bros Canada, Gaiam, Universal Music Canada, CIMA, Anthem Entertainment Group, Armani, The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and New Balance Canada.

A former board member of CARAS (The JUNO Awards) and CMAOntario, Samantha is also a sought-after guest speaker and mentor and has worked with companies including Toronto’s Centennial College, MusiCounts, The SOCAN Foundation, Music Yukon, Canadian Public Relations Society, MetalWorks, Music Publishers Canada “Women In The Studio” program, Rotmans Commerce Women in Business, and for the Urban Music Association, she is also a long-term mentor for Canadas’ Music Incubator.

Ashley Sperling is the Director of Marketing and Brand Partnerships at Strut Entertainment and has 15 years of experience in the entertainment and music industry. Prior to joining Strut, Ashley oversaw marketing, communications and events for MusiCounts, the music education charity associated with the JUNO Awards. She also has previous experience at Universal Music Canada, Cadence Music Group/ Fontana North, BlackBerry (music and content team), Luminato Festival, and taught digital marketing at the Harris Institute for the Arts for seven years.

After being in Toronto for many years, Ashley is now based in British Columbia and currently serves on the Music BC Board of Directors. She was previously a Country Music Association of Ontario board member, and has served on various music industry juries.
